Low Volts Provides Over Twenty Songs to 'The Baja Bug Movie' Soundtrack! Watch It Here!

For those of us with any VW Bug story, (and you can bet it’s all of us!) this film is going to captivate you. From the origin of the first Baja Bug creations in the 60’s to the current, ultra-extreme desert sleds, this movie tells the tale properly. Tim Lowman aka ‘Low Volts’ was asked to provide most of the soundtrack for the film alongside bands like Clutch and 7 Horse. Music from all three Low Volts albums is utilized to the fullest, plus many unreleased psychedelia-tinged instrumentals nestled in throughout. Overall, it’s very exciting to blast the volume and light up the big screen for this cinematic adventure so hop in the passenger seat and hit the sand with ‘The Baja Bug Movie’ featuring the music of Low Volts!

LOW VOLTS HAS WRITTEN THE PANDEMIC PARTY ANTHEM THE WORLD NEEDS RIGHT NOW

It’s been a rough, tension-inducing few months in quarantine and the world is finally starting to let off some steam. We could all use some serious dance therapy right now and Low Volts is about to release a brand new, cure-all anthem entitled, ‘Celebratin’ (At a Distance) on June 12th, 2020. A tongue in cheek (behind a mask) party banger like no other. Imagine dancing your asses off in “invisible bubbles”, keeping your distance, (“three meters on each side”) but being able to really cut loose in a club again. This is the essence of ‘Celebratin’. The song was recorded in isolation at Singing Serpent in San Diego with Mike Butler twisting knobs behind the glass in a separate control room. Tim Lowman (aka Low Volts) creates a thick, gritty, and extra greazy sound by playing guitar through multiple amps, stomping a giant kickdrum and howling into the mic…simultaneously. A sleeker, less awkward version of a ‘one-man band’ if you will.

This is all captured live with percussion subtly overdubbed to liven up key parts of the vibrant track. An official music video was also created out at the Salton Sea with Low Volts singing and dancing around the bizarre art installations and utter decay that is Bombay Beach. Filmed and edited by his girlfriend Dani Bell, the video is a fun and colorful pairing to a track written for the strangest of times. A YouTube video premiere is set for Friday, June 12 along with downloading the song directly from BandCamp. Listen now on Apple Music, Spotify and all other streaming services. With ‘Celebratin’ ready to infect the masses, be sure to fill your glasses, crank your stereo’s and wildly shake your hips with some close friends…at a distance of course.
